Popular Key West dive sites include:
  • Vandenberg Wreck

    Venture into compartments of this preserved underwater WWII era Navy ship. The Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg, at 524 feet long and 10 stories high, is the second largest artificial reef in the world! Swim with schools of fish, barracuda, and small sharks as you investigate the ins and outs of this deep sea shipwreck. Just 7 miles offshore in 140 feet of water, with top areas of the ship only 40 feet deep, the Vandenberg Wreck is definitely the best diving in Key West.
  • Alexander's Wreck

    Alexander's Wreck is a 300-foot US Navy destroyer escort used form an artificial reef. The remains of this ship lie in 25 feet of water five miles west of Key West. Divers occasionally will find military artifacts and deck guns from its past military use still visible. The area is a great place to dive and see abundant ocean-life, including the population of protected Goliath Grouper.
  • Ten-Fathom Bar

    This is one of the few mini-wall dives in Florida. The wall begins at 25 feet and drops quickly down to 130 feet. The water is clear and full of porcupine fish, eagle rays, spiny lobster, and tropical fish. This popular Key West dining spot is known for the friendly grouper that approach divers for treats.

Hop aboard for a day of back country fishing on a flats skiff, where you'll glide through shallow waters to catch local tarpon, which are found throughout the Florida Keys from February through October. The annual tarpon migration is from April through June when the tarpon come from the west across the flats. Try for bonefish throughout the late summer and fall, and barracuda and cobia in the winter and spring.
